The thing is, I really stumbled on this by accident!

Back in 1987, I had just started my restaurant and had lost touch with the entire music scene. Over the years, I'd caught snippets of it on the radio and thought it was a pretty neat 80's style tune. I tried finding out the artist to no avail. Then last Winter, I caught the tail end of it on the radio and was able to discern "...never gonna let you down or desert you..." I spent a while Googling but finally discovered the song title was "Never Gonna Give You Up," and that it was a huge hit in 1987 for Rick Astley. I found it on YouTube and the rest as they say, is history.

To me, it's a shame it has become somewhat of a joke. I think it's still a great tune and a stellar example of how good a lot of 1980's Pop Music actually was.

yes, it was funny as hell, but when I resent the link out to get the people on my e-mail list, a few were freaked out that it was a virus and they got mad at me. those were the only two people on my list that don't have a sense of humor so I didn't care. lol. although it did kind of resemble what a malicious virus does to your screen.

What comes around, goes around. I have been a Victim and perpetrator of a few RickRolls.
And judging the views on my previous post on this same subject, a lot of folks got rick rolled but won't admit it.

Oh my god... I just about lost my dinner after listening to this. When will these new "artists" understand they can seldom if ever improve on the original??
