Where do I say hi?

Grew up watching my brother on his commodore 64, and he taught me all about them. Stayed out of the Microsoft-dominated computer world as I didn't like all the stupid changes they kept making every 2 years. Finally got me my first PC in 2006 since my C64, hoping that Microsoft had pulled its head out, and after using windows XP for about a year and a half, I am just as disgusted as I was in 1990, 1992, 1995, and 1998, with all the garbage releases from Microsoft back then. Then I found Freegeeks here in Portland, OR. Got me a 2GHZ comp with Linux, and everyone was asking me about how I was gonna get linux off it and install windows. I decided to keep it on my computer and check it out. It has taken me less than a week to figure out that the Linux idea/doctrine of free is really what I am about and I intend to immerse myself in this OS and pitch in to contribute as much as I can.
Well I better put my rant on hold for now as I am sure to be posting another couple-hundred small essays later as I continue to get my feet wet.

Welcome to the forum!

This may upset you a lot...but the Commodore 64 operating system was based on Microsoft code

Commodore BASIC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The C64 was my first computer too. Still love it.
