Smile New to the Forum

Hi Guys,

My name is Dominik and I go by the nicks oniq and now have been moving over to theoniq. I've been using Linux and BSD off an on for over 8 years (Gentoo, RedHat, Fedora, OpenSuSE, Mint,Ubuntu, and Archlinux - which is my favorite). I have dabbled slightly in program, and created some decent sites with PHP/MySQL about year and a half ago.

Recently I have embarked on creating a new newsreader (Called ferret) similar to Pan Newreader but with extended features that come default in Unison for Mac OS X. Some of these include grouping by mass-post, to easily click one thread and download all the RARs (and PARs, if necessary), image preview, and streaming while downloading music files, multiple accounts, and anything else people decide is needed. I have my girlfriend shooting ideas at me as to what she would like - And I would apprecite any feedback from follow Newgroup Junkies as to what they would like to see.
I am coding ferret in GTK2-Perl, so I can turn around the program quicker without me trying to grasp C++.

You will be able to view progress within the next couple of days on my site, dreamscan

If you'd like to contribute let me now, for now I'm looking at the best way to support translations instead of adding those last. Next on the list will be to finish up the majority of the UI, then to ghe lower-level serviceside scripting.

Regards,
Dominik (oniq)
