Hi! I'm new here. I just bought an Asus EeePC and don't even know what distribution of linux the machine runs. Can anyone help me there?
Also, I'm interested in finding a free bit torrent client that runs under whatever distribution I'm running. Can anyone recommend one, and tell me where I can find it?
Thanks!

Hi and Welcome !

Open Terminal or Konsole and execute this
Above commands will display Distribution name and version.Code:cat /etc/*release* cat /etc/*version* cat /etc/issue
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

There is a good deal of info available in the Wiki of eeeuser.com at

I've had my epc since Feb08 and am having a great time with it since I switched to the advanced desktop. Good luck, I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have.
