TechieMoe, I didn't want to hijack Dan's thread, but my curiousity is driving me crazy, so I'm posting 'outside of the lines'. Now, about this link... Originally Posted by techieMoe ...

Where do you find these things? And, do you have anymore? You can't make this stuff up. (Or can you...?)

Now I've got this grin I can't get rid of, and it's wrecking my normal curmudgeonly demeanor.

Haha. That site is a synopsis of an episode of one of my favorite sitcoms, Newsradio. The writing and acting is superb and it was consistently funny throughout the 5 seasons it was on.

As for that particular episode, I'm just a fan of "lost in translation" kinds of jokes.

Some examples (that I can't find links to but you might be able to dig up):

"Super Spore" - an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Season 3 Ep. 6
"The Tangerine Factor" - an episode of "Big Bang Theory" (IMDB)

I think it lost its luster when Phil Hartman died. not to say that Lovitz isn't funny but the show wasn't the same. Big Bang Theory is chock full of Nerd Pop culture references.
