Talking Hi LinuxForums!

I am new to Linux and I started to love it
However I have a 5 years programming experience (I know it is not much :P)
I love C++/Java/PHP/JSP/ASP/.NET
I want to learn so many things and I want to start implementing softwares on Linux
so as start I have this small question
If I have a Java written program how can I make it executable on any version of Linux ( I am total newbie and I need hints so I can start working on the right track)

Hope I can get along with you all
Thanks in advance

Regards,

Thanks for your reply

I use Eclipse and basically I am quite skilled in Java

What I want to know is we have exe files as executable files in windows and I noticed there are some Linux with desktop support like Ubuntu where you can download packages and install them so I am want to know how to create these packages form a source code and if it needs any changes for the code I used to build windows applications

waiting for your reply
