I've been reading up on it alright. I think I may give it a go. Don't see myself switching from Firefox anytime soon though, it has everything I need in terms of base functions and plugins.

I do think it'll be an interesting option for those who won't switch from Internet Explorer. Mozilla and Firefox might not have been names they've traditionally known but I think Google might be more trusted to a lot of people. Now let's just see if they start bundling it with apps the way they have with their toolbar. Grrr :grr:

I thought the beta was Windows only?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Maybe so, I'm not really sure one way or the other.

I'll give it a shot (even if its Windows only) out of curiosity and to check out the features. It interesting that they choose webkit, which seems to be getting quite popular these days.

I'm playing around with it here at work. I'm immediately bothered by the lack of ad blocking. Adblock Plus is a must-have addition in Firefox. The overall GUI is very minimal. You get a lot more screen real estate than in Firefox or IE7.

I've been playing around with it for a few minutes and it feels snappier and more responsive that FF3 or IE7 on my Vista partition. I'm not so sure about having tabs right at the top, maybe its something that I will get used to with time. I agree with techieMoe, there is a lot more screen real estate than FF3 or IE7.

well my little experiment of installing Chrome in Wine failed. the installer doesnt do anything past a certain point. It mainly has to do with the fact the installer probably cant find its place of residence in
    "C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome"

found alink to build in linux on the open source site they host.
