Thanks Elija...

I've got it all up and running now...Vista works, the CD works, it's all there...Oh, that was fun......

I am right now on the Vista machine, I can't figure out how to configure the wireless USB adapter to connect to the router as of yet, but it is late, and at least I know it all works...Tomarrow I'll come back and start figuring out the rest...

However, while I'm asleep if anyone wants to answer this so I can work on it tomarrow morning...
I do have a SanDisk 1GB USB flashdrive...Could I create a LiveUSB as well as remove the formatting later so that I could port it from windows to linux? I'm not sure if it would damage it doing so...

However, Thanks you all...And I plan on testing as many as possible...So far I don't like the GUI in DSL...But as was when I first got 6.0, I just have to try things out until I find one that's AOK...By the way, are there any systems similar to the Mandrake 6.0 for older computers? I liked the several GUI's that came with that one...

Reformatting a flash drive won't damage it. But as a partial answer to your question: PenDrive Linux. You can do similar things with bot Puppy and with DSL. And if you actually install DSL to either HDD, or boot from a flash, you'll be able to change to GUI to something more to your liking.
Other than that... you got the right idea about trying different distros in order to find one that fits.

Enjoy!

Holy Halibuts Batman...I found my old Mandrake 6.0 installation disc and a 20gb harddrive in a computer I used for parts...
So I disconnected my HD's, connected the 20g HD and am installing mandrake for the time period, then I'll run some tests on it, then depending on what works and what doesn't, I'll install over it with other linux's...
Will be quite a nostalgia trip to get this running...

YEEEEHAW...I'm right now typing this out in Vector Linux...

However, I read during the installation that it needed over 300mb of RAM, so I might have to do some tweaking to it, or something...Anyway, At least I can test everything out now...

Thanks everyone for all your help...
