- 09-01-2004 #11You *could* order the full set of Debian CDs and redirect apt-get to look off of those. That way you wouldn't need a connection. I personally would wait though, because the newest version "Sarge" is due out some time in the next couple of months.

- 09-01-2004 #14Ah, yes. Lest we forget that *EVERYTHING* is compiled from source in gentoo. Yep, not the best choice for a 500mHz. It takes me days to install gentoo on a 1.3gHz machine; I can't imagine what it would take for an older box.
