Beijing Screen Of Death - real or fake?

I don't think that many planners would try to put something 'humourus' in an olympic opening ceremony.
It just to me seems like something where they trying to have everything perfect and without mistake. I have a feeling that it wasn't staged. Just doesn't seem like something for that event.
With the Nine Inch Nails BSOD thouhg... though would be staged.

Well the BSOD's appear to be in English. Wouldn't they be localised into Chinese if it was genuine or maybe the bsods are always in English?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

That was one of the first thoughts I had, too. But if you believe the comments on the page I referenced, the company responsible for the AV automation was an international company named Advanced Communication Equipment headquartered out of Hong Kong. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that most of the technical and administrative staff were probably using Lenovo Thinkpads running English versions of Windows XP. (Lenovo declined to use Vista on the computers they supplied for the Olympics) An ABC sportscaster apparently confirmed this report, as did a few others who recorded the event. The blue screen supposedly only appeared for a few seconds before it was taken down.

It can be a fake picture. With Gimp it's possible to create such an image.

i checked several sources, and they all say the same thing, also verifying the BSOD at the olympic games. It reminds me of this video where it occurs at a press conference for windows 98. it looks like a case of wrong place, wrong time.
