Linux courses
Hi all,
My boss mandate me to go for Linux courses to support the Linux Server (with CentOS).
But when i checked , there seems to be many Linux courses around with different OS.
There are redhat , SUSE , Novell Linux Administration courses etc etc
But i could not really find anything for CentOS.
Does it mean that if i go for one course (example redhat) , i will be able to administer for CentOS?
Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

CentOS is a clone of RHEL only. Go for Red Hat course.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

The basic set of commands is the same for all Linux (and UNIX) distros. Where they differ is the way administration is done, for example, many distros have their own favourite way of installing software. I'd guess a general course would set you up for pretty much all systems, and you'd have to dive into your local manuals to find those commands specific to your system. An alternative (or addition) would be to get hold of O'Reilly's Linux in a Nutshell to get a good overview of all the commands at your disposal, and of course there's a world of help available on the internet.

I'm with DC on this. Since CentOS is 100% RHEL compatible code (read:clone), the RHCE is the one you need to go for. Other certifications would be loading you down with info you wouldn't need, such as how to work with Synaptic or YAST. You won't need those things with CentOS.
