Hello from Adelaide Australia
Hi everyone. Light rain here today. Thurs will be 29 woohoo.
Came to this site like many other for help.
Just put together myself a new desktop and wanted to avoid any windows.
My mate Darryl said Kubuntu was the best around.
I never used Linux so it seemed a great idea to go with that with my first effort at building a computer. Mr Gates got some money from me for the e8400 Core 2 Duo. Ah well it runs cooler than AMD. Oh and I guess some dosh from my graphics also (Gigabyte GeForce 9600GT - 512MB DDR3, 256-bit, 2x DVI, HDTV, HDCP, Heatsink - PCI-Ex16 v2.0).
All pretty good so far anyway. 64bit kubuntu installed. But no internet yet. Which seems vital to get the updates needed to get the internet going lol.
(see my original post)
Anyhow I am a humble clerk for the education dept here in South Australia.
Enjoy growing some veggies in the backyard (am a vego).
Feel free to say hi.
