You use an AOL CD-ROM as a coaster for your beer.

I use them as frisbees and sources of cheap light shows (microwave). I used to love getting the AOL floppies; I would format those and use them to copy Ultima.... I mean... *create backups*...

It is dangerous to microwave metallic objects, and the CD does get a little warm, but you only microwave it for 5 seconds. The area that reacts to the waves burns up in a couple of seconds. The sparks are perty.
