Kde 4 !!!!!
This maybe old hat but ...
I just installed Fedora 9 and I have used kde for years so that is how I installed and started it. I found this version of KDE so bad I will go to Gnome now they have the Gnome commander file window search.
KDE 4, why, what, and does anybody like it and if you do can you tell me why.
Thanks for your input.

From what i read in blogs, the best implementation of KDE 4 is OpenSuse and then Mandriva. Fedora and Ubuntu are more Gnome oriented and that it where they focus their efforts.

You're not alone in your sentiments.

Nope, you are not alone...
After being a true and dedicated fan of KDE for more than 8 years running, KDE4 has managed to turn me into a huge fan of Gnome.
It's certainly not because I didn't give KDE4 a fair chance, either. I've installed it about 30 or 40 different times since it came out earlier this year, but I simply can't stick with it for more than a few days at at time. It's truly the worst desktop environment I've ever experienced under Linux.
Hopefully, things will improve some day and I'll become a fan again!

I use Gnome most of the time, but i believe that KDE4 has a lot of potential. The biggest improvements that most users did not notice, while they should be grateful of, is the new QT 4.4, the new clean code base and the good seperation of backends & frontends. These 3 things will make life so much easier for developers, that we will definitely see great applications in the near future. KDE4 paved the way for innovation to KDE application developers. And all KDE4 apps can be ported to Windows! In some time, many windows users will use K3b and Amarok and then they will miss 2 less applications(NERO,Winamp or WMP) when migrating to Linux. The migration will be so much easier for all.

5 years ago Linux had a lot of potential but nobody used it(including me that i had tried Suse 6.2!)Now it doubled to 2% from 1% last year and it rising like a volcano

So wait and we will talk again for KDE4 in 1 year.
