Random Quirks
It is my firm belief that one of the things that makes life interesting are the various random quirks people develop. For instance, I have a quirk about zippers on bags.
If the bag has one more than one zipper pull (as is customary on backpacks for instance) I always prefer to have them both pulled halfway, thus unzipping is a simple task and I never have to pull one of the zippers all the way from one end of the zipper run to the other. My zipper pulls stay at the top of my backpack for easy access.
Why is this a quirk? Because for some reason unknown to me the people around me do not see the utility of it. More often than not when someone has tried to be helpful and zipped up my bag for me, they pull one of the zipper pulls completely around from one side to the other, leaving both zipper pulls on the far end of the run and making unzipping the bag less convenient. It annoys me greatly. What random quirks do you all have?Registered Linux user #270181

Well... for some odd reason, I have this thing about doors. If I use, let's say the side door, to enter a building I feel that I need to use the same door to exit the building. I know it's rather odd... but there ya go.
By the way, Moe... I also have the exact opposite compulsion as you concerning zippers

Unfortunately for the spouse, I'm a bit of tidiness freak.

Everything has its proper place and it should always be there when I go to look for it.
Unfortunately for me, nothing is ever where it's supposed to be if the spouse has had access to it.
I've found that it's much easier if I simply chalk it up as my own weakness, though!

I always have to be screwing around with my linux, or windows, desktop. wither it be installing new software, messing with how it looks, i can never not be tinkering with it.

I can sympathize with that one. For me, the easiest way to not lose something is to put it back in the same place every time. Therefore, when I need it, I always know where it is. My wife, on the other hand, has a tendency to drop things (like her keys) in random places depending on what she's doing and it's an eternal search for where she dropped them last.

Hmm... we should probably get together and discuss this thing further, techieMoe. It sounds to me like our spouses might be related!

I am actually a bit of a slob; everything where it ends up, except on my computer. There everything is filed away just so and I can't stand files or even shortcuts on my desktop.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I have a few. Whenever I'm on a plane and they're serving drinks I always have ginger ale. I don't know why; I guess there's something about the stale air that makes it taste really good because for some reason it is unbelievably refreshing. I pretty much never order ginger ale any other time, too. The other thing is I have to read before I go to bed (unless I've had a few drinks, then I'm out like a light). No matter how tired I am, if I don't read at least 20 pages of something, my mind races and I can't sleep. It doesn't even have to be something special either. It could be the owner's manual for a lawnmower but if I don't get some kind of reading stimulus, I can't fall asleep.

As long as I have my keys. I don't care about anything else. My keys.
Oh, and when I say I'm leaving, I am literally gone in 30 seconds. Out the door. I hate it when people say they are leaving when in fact they mean they have to 'do stuff first'.Can't tell an OS by it's GUI
