Linuxia - the Linux distro wiki

    Hello,
we are starting Linuxia - the Linux distro wiki which is focused on maximal clarity, simpleness and power. It's purpose is to provide a unified simple interface for checking details about various distributions.

The problem is, that Linuxia has only one user - me . And second problem is that Linuxia doesn't have too much articles, yet. Both of the problems may be solved by you - just sign in at Linuxia and became a user. Thanks a lot

The address of Linuxia is: Linuxia: Welcome to Linuxia - wiki of all Linux distributions.

Don't. Help DistroWatch.com instead. It's already been done.

    Comradely, DingoBoy.

Yeah I was just thinking, "Aren't we just reinventing the wheel here?"

What's wrong with a bit of competition to keep people on their toes. With no competition we would all be using Windows

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I visited the Linuxia site and I think it's a good idea. It doesn't look like a direct competitor of Distrowatch at all. Though I don't see why that would be such a bad idea. I like the idea of having a 'go-to' site where I can get the specs on a given distro/version without wading through multiple links and impertinant data. I'll support you on this, Augustin. Just tell me how I can best help the project. (Shoot me a pm and I'll send you an email addy.)

DistroWatch has different philosophy - e.g. it doesn't tell you what are the minimal requirements for a given distro.
Actually, that is the reason I have started with Linuxia - I was searching for some good distro for my laptop and I spent hours while searching for a minimal requirements of the distros.

Hello, the best help to Linuxia would consist of:
    a) Joining the Linuxia team - registering at Linuxia: Welcome to Linuxia - wiki of all Linux distributions and adding distros or just upgrading the current ones
    b) Getting more people to help us
    c) Your own suggestions

BTW. thesimplecreator have joined Linuxia team already. Congrats

    Thanks a lot

linuxia gives you all the specs you need to know right offhand in a simple table
if you want to know more about a certain distro youd just click through to there site to get the long description of it.
    besides, making pages is fun
