Cable, now that I'm living closer to civilization. 8MB/s (realistically around 5MB/s) for $50 a month.

Cable running at 8Mb/1Mb, television and telephone are included. It's not decidedly cheap, but it's competitive enough and has reasonable uptime.
It used to be 3Mbit, but last month my ISP was nice enough to almost triple it at no extra cost. Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

ADSL 8mb / 1mb in theory. In reality is it closer to 2.5mb / 700kb

At home we use Virgin Media (cable) and the max speed is 20Mbps. On the road, I use mobile internet from 3UK.

Weird.
My previous post vanished.
Anyway, cable.
Comcast, says speeds "up to" 10Mbps but I rarely see anything above 3Mbps.
Even slower for the laptops connecting through a wireless AP.Last edited by glaston; 10-14-2008 at 01:07 AM. Reason: post vanished.
