All I got is dial-up but I really need better service.

Prices are too high and providers are not honest!!

Cable, now that I'm living closer to civilization. 8MB/s (realistically around 5MB/s) for $50 a month.

Cable running at 8Mb/1Mb, television and telephone are included. It's not decidedly cheap, but it's competitive enough and has reasonable uptime.

It used to be 3Mbit, but last month my ISP was nice enough to almost triple it at no extra cost.

ADSL 8mb / 1mb in theory. In reality is it closer to 2.5mb / 700kb

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

At home we use Virgin Media (cable) and the max speed is 20Mbps. On the road, I use mobile internet from 3UK.

    Weird.
    My previous post vanished.

    Anyway, cable.
Comcast, says speeds "up to" 10Mbps but I rarely see anything above 3Mbps.
Even slower for the laptops connecting through a wireless AP.

I'd love to get speeds like that but it's not likely to happen around here for a while. My local DSL provider only offers 10Mbps, and the local cable company only offers about 3Mbps. I'm always looking for something faster, though.
