What do you mean by "you've made it"?
What is the criteria that must be met in order to have "made it"?
If you're saying you're totally Microsoft free, then congratulations!
I hate windows so much!
I'm still bound to it to some degree.
It's down to one application for me.
I can't find an acceptable non-MS solution for my GPS.
I know there's some apps for using GPS devices in Linux, but I have a Garmin unit that I paid a pretty penny for.
And of course, you have to buy map discs from them too which cost around $100 a pop so if I were to completely sh1tcan Mapsource that'd be a waste of over $200.
And I'm sure that to use open source apps for it would mean sacrificing some main feature/s, and might require the installation of alternative firmware which of course would void the warranty if something went wrong.
This is exactly how MS screws us.
It's insanity!
Everyone hates Microsoft, yet everyone owns their products and as a result is shackled to them in one way or another.
If you don't use their products, you're still inconvenienced by them somehow.
Their business model doesn't cater to the customer, it totally strips the customer of all other options.
It's not a monopoly, it's a capitalist dictatorship.
It's amazing if you think about it!

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
