Influx of new users lately

Is it me or has there been a huge influx lately of new users. Every morning i check the coffee lounge and notice more and more new users posts. Admins speak up I would be interested to see numbers on how many new accounts have been created etc. seems kind of exciting and intriguing from a statistical stand point.

For new users where are you coming from? In that I mean what got you started in linux.

ps Moe do you think there might be room for a poll for new users and how they came to linux?

There are a lot of new users and they are asking a lot of non-newbie questions too. Of course this is just my opinion and not a fact.
2-11-07 we had 100,000 Members and today we have 182,516
So we added 80,000+ in just a little over one year and eight months.

There are a lot more genuine new users to the forum. We've been having a bit of trouble with extra bot registrations (and we've been trying to do something to curb this) but among that there do seem to be more real people coming on board here every day.

I think it's great - and it is good to see such a wide range of experience.
