Very Surprising Outcome for XPSP2

Well i work supporting Windows XP tech support,
we just got sats in for the service pack 2.
Considering the Source of the update i think these stats are pretty good
Totals since XPSP2 Launch:
Downloads: 13,805,030
Cases: 91,882
Incident Rate: 0.67%

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but my work has expressly forbidden us from installing SP2 because of some disastrous results we had on our test machine. Apparently there's some bugs that affect IBM's software development tools.

i have heard that it even messes up visual studios 6 which is pretty bad considering thats Microsofts own software lol

yea, the fact that it doesnt run into problems most of the time....but when it does...it really does, 90% of people ive dealt with, get blue screens now when they start windows...wanna hear the fix for it?
remove sp2...lmao

Even though that, along with other problems show that SP2 needed more work before release, I think fixing the problem with their old software is less of a worry for Microsoft as they are really pushing the .NET Framework.

Yeah, i was migrating a network, and all the clients were xp, when i left them overnight I came back, they had all installed sp2 and broke the wireless nic drivers we were useing......stupid fing SP2 stupid fing MS stupid find windows.... stupid fing satan..well, actualy hes not thaaat bad.

SP2 made me want to switch to linux. I had it installed for 2 weeks - made me realize how lame MS is. I realize there are much better systems out there. now that I'm figureing linux out, I dont think I'll ever go back to MS.

shrug we have 41machines in the lab i work at...we installed sp2 on one of the machines as a test subject.....tried to reboot it...it wouldnt load...loaded safe mode....then rebooted again booted up....then we found out that the teacher program that the teachers use to control their puters stopped working.... i came to the conclusion that it was a piece of junk reimaged it
