Maybe I have missed the point ... I found this more useful.

What were your thoughts on this Dapper Dan?

I felt some members might find it informative. I had no concern about whether it was more or less useful than anything else, just sharing it that's all.

I think the author of Dan's link was just quick reviewing 10 desktops he thought might be of interest to Linux users, whereas Jonathan's link is intended to be more of a comprehensive listing of the various desktops available.

Looks like both sites might have missed some that could/should have been mentioned, such as LXDE, for instance.

... maybe I just expected a couple of links at the end of the article and a bit more of an explaination about window managers and desktop environments ...

Dan ... don't be sorry - I think its just the way I read the article. I don't react well to a brief intro with no pointers where to look next ... consider it a personality flaw ... I think subconsiously I read * I'm telling you this is all you need to know * ...

Speaking of those desktops that shouldn't be overlooked, it's funny how we all see things so differently. Take for instance, the #1 option in the list by the author, Enlightenment... I've tried it countless times, but can't ever adjust to it at all. Yet, there are many out there that think of it as the greatest window manager, ever.

Options are a very good thing.
