Dock (not a question, just wanted to pass this on)

    Hi All,

So I've spent a lot of time looking for docking software for Linux. I use Avant-Window-Navigator, but I recently came across cairo-dock. If anyone wants something that looks a bit like the Mac bar, you should check this out.

The reason I pass this on...I looked forever for something like this and just recently accidentally came across it. It looks good, is relatively bug free and it's functional.

Hope someone can put this to use.

It's pretty light weight too, but like all those shiny things, I find them annoying after a while and go back to the basic menu

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I'm actually just the opposite...I found cairo-dock, and started using that, and just recently (last night, actually) found out about awn, and am looking into switching. both seem like good stable docks, though.

    Thanks for that jmadero

I use Avant-Window-Navigator and was just playing with the config when I saw your post. I'll check it out for sure.

Have any of you guys had a look at gnome-do? It's very cool, once you get to using it.

GNOME + Do = Crazy Delicious

I did use Katapult in KDE4 a bit and liked it but for both you have to break some hard habits. It doesn't come to mind easily at the start but once you get the hang of it they are very useful and save a lot of time and keystrokes.
