Ya'll sure know how to be a buzzkill. I mean I know security is important as well as you guys but come on man, unless you have a server (you shouldn't be using that anyway) or NASA secrets stored on your hard drive, what's anyone going to do to you? You use Linux brother, most of these phishing scammers and crackers wouldn't know what to do with your system even if he did manage to track your IP, find a vulnerability/exploit and crack your password. I know if I got hacked/trojaned or whatever, I have absolutely nothing of value on here, well maybe some really really hard to find, pilfered mp3's. So Hack me, teach me something I don't already know. Give my 3 layer firewall setup a try

One of the best things you can do to keep secure is simply to just not be an idiot! Obviously free-screensaver.exe is a virus, and do you really think that Nigerian general has £20m to put in your bank account?

For every person that posted in this thread saying "I would never use my actual password on that tester", there is at least 1 person who DID try their actual password (transmitted in plaintext across the innertubes) - and definitely isn't going to admit it.

Far more *home users* visit this site than admins. They also tend to use the same password for many uses - including online sites such as webmail, banking, shopping, etc. I don't need to get by your firewall to clean out your bank account.

My post is simply a reminder to *think* before you click.

A very good point HROAdmin26. I've since changed all of my passwords (it was about time). I had feared that this may be a site for harvesting passwords for rainbox tables...then I figured I better take off my tin foil hat But it goes to show it's better to think it than not think it.
