    Thanks for the info.

    vim is certainly one of those "love it" or "hate it" applications. I've always been rather fond of it, and lately have been using the older vi with great success.

    Anyone wanting a quick lesson to get you started with vim can run vimtutor from the command line and that should get you going well enough until you can devote some time to detailed studies of the application.
