Remakes of old movies tend to trade special effects for " the moral " of the movie.
For an example the original " war of the worlds " and the new version. Like most people, I liked the original " day the earth stood still " and " forbiden planet ".

The movies that I presently desire greatly to see, however, are " Gomorra " and " The End of America "

You got that right, and on top of that those special effects are often quite lousy in quality.

Elija, I downloaded the Teaser for Star Trek and watched on VLC. Being 1/2 Cossack, I always had a soft spot for Chekov. I liked it when he said, "Not Moose, but like Cow". Thanks for the link.

Anyone seen the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, yet?

I've not seen it, but all the reviews that I've read indicate that it's pretty bad. That said, I've gotta admit that it would have been more surprising if the reviews were good because nobody can mess up classic movies like modern day Hollywood.

The reviews of the " new " version are indeed very bad, Ozar.
