I saw this float through Slashdot yesterday, and it was one of the funniest articles I've seen for a long while. What made me laugh the most was in helio's answer:

It's not often that I'm sat at my computer here at work and laugh out loud.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I guess I really was fortunate to pass through the American public school system when I did, as it's all apparently turned to sh*t now.

So do I! I'll buy one!

I'm certainly glad that my school's admins aren't like that, heck we have a ret hat server

Fortunetly, they realise that e'd be better off with linux. Unfortunetly, they don't have the power to make the switch. Microsoft have a contract with all UK schools saying that they have to provide all PCs through RM and that no other OS is allowed to be installed on the system.

That's why the admins left the Acceptable Usage Policy wide open for us guys to boot linux through a CD or USB

Well, apparently this happened in my state. I claim no responsibility, but to those thinking it was a joke, I offer these two articles confirming it:

Don't worry, TechieMoe. Even though we do, in fact, all blame you completely, you're too loveable to punish

Oh, something that I might can mention...
NEVER underestimate the power of human ignorance. I have computer-related stories but my favorite is not one: I was kicked out of class, sent to the principal's office, and nearly suspended from school in 7th grade because I was arguing with the teacher: she swore up and down that the only difference between a tornado and hurricane is that hurricanes are on water and tornados are on land.
No cursing or anything involved, just frustration. And to top it off, the principal actually tried reasoning with me, saying 'just let her teach how she wants...'
    ...
    ...
    you get the idea.
