There are very few distros that have tormented me as much as Ubuntu 8.10 did. I never thought that somebody can release a distro with so many bugs. This is hard to forgive, when we take into account that Ubuntu is the favorite distribution for the most Linux users. But let's start:
Bug 1: The tray closes immediatelly you've opened it.
Solution: Download and install the updates. This seemed to solve this problem for me.

Bug 2: No camera recognition with Digikam, nor with F-spot neither with gtkam.
Solution: With updates the problem is partially solved. F-spot will recogize the camera and download the pictures, while other applications won't.

Bug 3: No microphone capture nor sound in Skype.
Solution:
# apt-get purge pulseaudio
# apt-get install esound
# alsamixer -V all , and enable the capture (either with the button 'm' or Space)
After that set all the audio applications to ALSA.

Bug 4: Bad wireless network signal strenght
Solution: Never trust to the "out-of-box" drivers. I have a Realtek 8180l and I was fighting heavily with the signal strenght for 2 weeks. It seemed that Intrepid recognized my card, and it worked, but with very varying success. I've checked my aerial, the cable, the joints, everything...
And in my final despair I've installed the Win driver with ndiswrapper, rebooted the PC and got signal strength over 94%! This is what I hate the best: They are trying to persuade you, that the system recognizes the item, but it doesn't. Never trust to the "out-of-box" drivers.

Bug 5: No landscape oriented page printing
Solution: This is the worst. You'll have to adjust the page orientation with the Printer managing application. There's no connection between the applications and Cups. You'll have to set all margins to 0 and select 'Rotate 90 deg'. The number of copies is also set here.

Intrepid for Linux is what Vista is for Windows! Its a shame and blame.
