Hey Skittle,
Great articles! I loved the OOo one, I don't think I want 3.0, not yet at least. (I think I actually prefer Abiword at this point!). Also, in the Apple/Microsoft article, there were some very good points. You should see some of the mac vs. pc videos on youtube, people throwing around some nasty words at each other based on what OS they use! Thanks for the reads!

I liked that article, too. Everyone hates M$, but the truth is, the world is not ready to go on without it, which means everyday users can't afford to, either. What I took from that article, more than anything, was that no OS is superior to another. Each serves it's purpose and that's the bottom line. That's why we really do live in a world where more than one OS type is heavily recommended.
You may notice the thread that TechieMoe started about using WINE. My response to WINE is a KVM Switch. I have Windows on one computer running the apps that absolutely required Windows to run, and then Linux running all my other apps: internet, chat, downloading, media, ect. I decided to try that option out a few months after getting into Linux, and now, I can't go without it.Using Linux since June 2007

Yeah, I defiantly agree when you say no OS is superior to another. Each one has it's downfalls, but more importantly, each one has it's strengths. If I wanted to play games, I'd use Windows. If I wanted to edit videos, I'd use Apple. If I wanted to have control over my computer and be safe from intruders, I'd use Linux. Granted each one can do the others' tasks to a certain extent, but as you said, each one serves it's own purpose.
The KVM switch is really neat! I agree with your dislike for WINE. Me and wine, we never really got along. Each time I install a distro, I try to install it because I find something that needs it, and each time I pull out all my hair, waste a few hours, and still end up at square one. Since I do have windows on my laptop, I can still use the programs I want to without having to go through the hassle of wine. Also, if you find a program you like in windows, there's probably an open-source alternative out there somewhere. And maybe it's not as good, but hey, it's open source, so if it aint good, we can fix it! Legally! Woo-hoo!
