Is there any legal issues with game porting from one distro to another? I've just made Mandriva packages from Ubuntu packages for Alien Arena and Sauerbraten. I've used the files from Ubuntu repositories, and the alien. Is this a violation?

If it is Free Software, you are encouraged to spread them all over the world

It seems that the engines are Free Software, while the media is not.
But you still have the right to redistribute unmodified versions for different operating systems.

PS: Usually, there comes a file called COPYING or LICENSE bundled with most packages which tells in more detail what your rights regarding this particular software are.
