I'm not trying to be a smart-ass here, but anyone who has the stones to hang out a 'Professional Linux Engineer' shingle should know better. If they can't fix it, they should at least have a hint of this prior to diving into your problem, and they should have forewarned you. Ndiswrapper has a storied history, and doesn't work in every instance. Hell, even as a novice, I know that. I would be having a chat with your "engineer" if I were in your shoes.
Bummer... That's a lot of discs. Why so many? I mean, why take it so far if it's obviously not working for you? (I'm just curious.)
Installing Ubuntu was probably your best move. Ubuntu seems to be a fairly friendly distro. I like it, and it's always played nice on my stuff. I moved to Fedora just a few months ago, and while I love it, it didn't really impress me as a good beginner's distro. Don't know why it gets included in so many lists as just that. To me, it's more of a distro to try after you've gotten your feet wet with something else. Of course, that's just my opinion.

The linux engineer is one of my friends who is a professional linux engineer for a software company. Didnt pay him but he offered to have a look.
In response to why i kept at it for so long, lets just say, im stubborn and i like a challenge and once i find someting that doesnt work, i want to fix it and i also really liked the Fedora distro (for the brief periods i had it running) so i was persitant to get it working. I wa also never a fan of Ubuntu; now i love Ubuntu more then Fedora. haha.
