Arch Linux! My favorite. I also use Sidux. Never really cared for any of the rpm based systems....

    LOL!!! I needed that!

It really stinks being a techno moonie but at least I got fluxbox to spit up some faux transparent rxvt terminals, I'll figure out if that was worth my immortal soul later....

I do not respond to Private Messages asking for Linux help. Please, keep it on the public boards.

Experience suggests you'll be singing a different tune when I'm gnawing on your brain pan.

    I stand corrected.
Thanks, it seems like a great site.

I've had to move this year. It was FC but because of my epc it's Xandros now. Still on the FC at home/work but the epc goes with me everywhere and is my internet contact.

Debian and Ubuntu for me. I've tried a few others, including Fedora and OpenSolaris, but nothing about them has made me want to abandon Debian. I did pinch the panel backgrounds from OpenSolaris, though...

    .tar.bz2 version:
    Debian ftw.

    Decompressed version:

Well, I've tried a ridiculous number of distros...Red Hat 5.1 was my first, other than it didn't even finish the installation...last year I tried Ubuntu 7.1 and loved it. But, I'm a performance/tiny size FON (freak of nature), thx to 386-era hardware beginnings, so I switched to Debian.

Tried Linux Mint, PCLinuxOS, Dmn Small Linx, Sidux, Arch, SliTaz, early Puppy, and a few others.
So far I keep coming back to Debian on my main PC, but I'm planning on giving Arch another shot on one of my testing machines.

I've been using Ubuntu for the last 3 years. I'm trying AntiX, but it refuses to let me log in, so I'm running it from the live cd right now. I'll have to see what's going on in /etc/passwd.

    I use most Puppy.
Puppy is small, very quick, it runs good on old but also on new computers, it does everything I need (and even much more), it is well documented (in case of problems) good forums, easy (intuitively) to use....
