    Talking Introduction and Hello

Hello everyone! My name is Jon, and I live in Colorado. I am new to Linux, and want to make the switch to Linux from Windows, yet I do not know where to begin. I would like to find someone who can teach me the basics, and perhaps even more. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

    New

Hi! I am absolutely brand new to the Linux community. In fact, I know absolutely nothing about how to install or use Linux. I was first introduced to Linux from my boyfriend, who uses strictly Linux. He wanted to install Linux on my PC and teach me from there, but I decided I wanted to learn it all from the start. Instead of bugging him endlessly and bombarding him with questions while he's trying to play TF2, I decided to join on here and surprise him while also educating myself. I actually want to learn how to do all this on my Macbook before doing it on my PC, which I hear is more difficult, but I feel the harder it is, the more I will learn. So if anyone has any great tips, web sites, or well, anything, please message me.

    Thanks!!!

Hi and welcome to Linux forums!! I have been on here for a while, but as you can see I make no posts. I am still a newbie as well. I will say that if you have the time that the links that both Ozar and Rokytnj have are great. If you are like me then my first time even looking at a linux site was confusing......you know...words like distribution, window manager..all made my head spin. But of course being a windows user...well you don't have to worry about all of that.

But good luck! And hope to see you around!
