    Just saying hi

Quick intro - I'm a noob when it comes to linux and have come here to learn. I have a laptop that I bought from a friend which needs an OS. I decided to give linux a try. Thus my journey begins. I'm currently looking for the right distro for my needs. I've narrowed it down to Ubuntu, openSUSE, and Linux Mint based on the info I've gathered so far.

For the record the machine I'm working with has a Pentium 1.86, 80G hard drive, and 1G of RAM.

My needs are Firefox, OpenOffice, and Visual Studio (or another IDE I can use for my other new hobby, C++.)

My biggest concerns are getting my wireless card to work and making sure I can still access Mvelopes (a flash based remote server budgeting system I use extensively.)

    Unsolicited advice is always welcome.

    Zook
