Tonight I watched Quentin Tarantino's " Death Proof " staring Kurt Russell. If you have ever watched a Tarantino film you know that there will be some wierdness in it somewhere. Death Proof is no exception.

Tonight I watched M. Hight Shyamalan's " The Happening " starring Mark Wahlberg. Just like the rest of his written/directed movies the guy gives his viewers something to think about.

I bought the Midnight Cowboy DVD the other day and it's been years since I last saw it, so looking forward to seeing it this weekend. What a great one it was...

I watched "In Bruges" the other night (In Bruges (200) and it is well worth a watch. I'm not usually a fan of Colin Farrell but the role couldn't have been cast better.
I need a new signature. This one is boring!

My blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I had to watch In Bruges twice. I wish I had the director's cut.

Got another promising movie in production. "Agora", a sweeping historical epic based loosely on the life and death of Hypatia of Alexandria, the last scientist-teacher of the Library at Alexandria. Looks like the scriptwriters may have taken liberties with a few facts, probably in order to spice it up enough to maintain cinematic tension. Of course in view of all the events that took place, and all the evidence that was destroyed surrounding the burning of the library, and the murder of Hypatia, it would be almost impossible to build a script without manufacturing some of the story anyway. I won't judge them too harshly on this point. Rachael Weisz was cast for the role of Hypatia. I hope she does well. I've had a thing for her, since her role in "Stealing Beauty".

Hypatia, the historical figure has always been a compelling figure for me. If I could travel back in time and spend a day or a week with any notable person from the past, I would be hard pressed to choose between her and Sir Isaac Newton.

A short teaser clip for "Agora" is available at several places on the web, including here. The film is in post-production right now and a release date has been set for December 18th of this year.
