    I just read through it and there's some good information in there. It's mostly basic stuff (the author is advertising another book, Ubuntu Kung Fu, for the more advanced topics) but the things that are covered are solid. I'd recommend it as a quick reference for new users.

    There was one section dealing with the encrypted "/private" folder that I found enlightening. I didn't know anything about the encryption options in 8.10 so this was news to me. All in all, a good read. It's going on my USB stick.
