What kind of search engine is ixquick? Is it like Google where you can search as you normally do when you look for something or what is it?

You use it like you would with any search engine. But it's a meta search engine. That means it looks in several search engines at once and gives the most relevant results of each.

Thanks for sharing Freston ... it will be interesting to see if others follow this fine example.

Expecting privacy on the net is a bit like expecting to find a shade tree on the sun... it probably doesn't exist!Privacy on the net
I am very glad that people are concerned and thinking about it, though.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Yeah, they have browser plugins. Thanks for posting the link! But truth is, I find it easier to find what I want using Google. So lately I've been experimenting with Cuil (the Irish among us may recognize that as a word meaning knowledge

The jury is still out on which engine will be my new default, but at least now there is choice. And who knows, maybe a new disease will be searchenginehopperitus

Things that work perfectly and reliably in Google such as when you know the name of the company but not the url to their website, well that should be an easy task for any self respecting search engine.

But at least it's good to have a choice. And maybe there's a little trick or a completely different method to searching. Maybe Google has spoiled me as well. Can't tell an OS by it's GUI
