EvilEntity / Arcane Linux
It looks like nobody has posted here in a while (last post July 2005) but I came across a reference to EvilEntity and that some of the people who worked with / on it have started a new distro based on the EvilEntity distro...I've tried to get a link to Arcane Linux (www.arcanelinux.org) but it seems to be a dead url? I've seen the same url listed on DistroWatch, it is the same url, also dead...so it isn't just me. I've even tried to google for it with no matches. Anyone know what has happened...did they give it (Arcane Linux) up?

Thanks y'all,

Welcome to the forums!
I did a little digging around but couldn't find anything much on it, either.
Both projects appear to be dead all the way around, but maybe someone in the know will reply with more info for you.oz

re: Hitachi CD-RW firmware
Thanks for your efforts ... I am beginning to think that those particular distro's are passe!? Just curious about them, anyway. I like trying out different distro's...especially ones that fit on USB 'flash' drives and 'pocket' disc's.
Thanks again for your help and efforts, I'll keep an eye and an ear open and will post anything I find (if anything) on it/them.
asta la pasta!

I remember playing with EvilEntity a long time ago, and although they had an interesting sense of humor I don't remember ever being able to get the thing to work. On the topic of USB flash-drive distros, the base for those is growing. I believe Damn Small, Puppy, and even Fedora have versions you can put on a flash drive.

That is totally weird, about what you said in your post about the distro install would trash any Windows installations!!

I wonder what happened to the other guys, after their 'leader' disappeared (I wonder if Bill Gates had him assassinated? Or maybe kidnapped and held for ransom...maybe that's why the others disappeared, also? LOL)...their post said something to the effect that they were going to use what they knew of EE to build AL...anyone ever see that distro?
About the 'pocket' linux...I've tried (and liked) DSL and Fedora but have yet to try out Puppy...is it pretty much similar to DSL? I might just d/l it and give it a try...maybe try it out on my laptop or my sis' pc?
Thanks again for the info!!
