ok, im saving up money to build a new gaming computer and i was wondering how much i should sell my current computer for.?????
the specs are:
atx full-tower case (plain white-ish grey)
768mb ram (expandable to 2gb)
160gb hard drive
1.4ghz amd athlon xp processor
2 cd-rw drives
xubuntu
256mb video card
new power supply i bought like a month ago
and a keyboard and mouse
no speakers
no monitor
it works perfect and was custom built.

I'd recommend checking eBay to see what comparable computers are selling for. You can probably get about the same for your own box. You might even be able to break it down into components and get more for it.

I really hate to say this, but for all that together, I wouldn't pay any more than $100, and that is being generous.
You will get a bit more by parting it out, considering the video card is probably worth more than everything else in it combined unless it has a Corsair power supply.
You can get Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad computers at Wal-Mart/Dell/HP/etc... now for around $300 to $400 with an LCD monitor, 250GB+ SATA Hard drives and 2GB+ of RAM.
The computer market is not what it used to be.
You would probably get more out of it putting it in a closet and using it as a file/game server or something.

I like both suggestions. Either part it out, or try to make some cash running a small server of some sort.
