Idle home server. What to do?
Hey everybody. First post here. I'm a SysAdmin with several windows and linux home servers. I thought I would share what I'm doing with them and maybe get some ideas of what else I could do. Here's what I have:
Windows server 1:
Vista Media Center; HD Home theater
NES/SNES/N64/PS1/MAME emulator; EMUcenter with Xbox360 controller
Windows server 2:
Web server; WAMP and Joomla
Torrent server; uTorrent with WebGUI
Podcast downloader
SyncToy; syncs media to Android G1 phone
Linux server:
E-mail; Zimbra
FTP
Android G1 media converter; ffmpeg/ImageMagick script
Backup server
Nas:
it's a nas...
My linux server automatically converts all my media to a format that can play on my Android G1 phone with a script I wrote. My Windows server automatically syncs the media to my G1 when my phone's wireless is connected. I'm a pretty good bash scripter and would love some ideas of what else I could do. I'm not really interested in Folding...I'm too selfish

Can you post those scripts? Those sound quite useful. I might actually take the auto convert one and change it a bit to suit my needs. Thanks

Sure thing. I created a new thread for them so that they can be easily found.
