Is anyone familiar with the Amaya browser?
I am wondering if any Linuxforums members use or are familiar with the Amaya browser. I installed it to see how my website looked in it and was instructed by Hostgator to use a firefox browser. Amaya seems to be able to alter websites.

It is the W3C "official" browser. It crashes a lot and is very good for testing Standards compliance but I wouldn't use it day to day. I believe it is an editor as well.
Firefox can also alter websites - with the right extension (Firebug) installed. It can only alter the current downloaded page. Hit refresh and it will pull the page down from the server againIf we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I remember you asking about this one once before. It's been many years since I last tried it, but back then it wasn't any where near ready for regular users. I've not tried it again since that time, but it's clearly not of great popularity even now, or there would be far more posts about it.

Sorry Ozar, my mind is not as sharp as it once was. I am however mindful of another post that I made about bootloader spyware that you commented on. One of the benefits of now using ubuntu is that I had to call up my isp to get their dns numbers so that I could configure ubuntu's dial-up program. I also put the dns numbers in my suse 10 dial-up configuration,
The website posted dial-up numbers used by my isp are the same numbers used by netzero and a host of other providers. I think that the removal of windows xp from my computer and the installation of the dns numbers now prevents the hacking of my computer from those sources.Linux registered user # 414321

Why would they advertise their browser if there was nothing to it?

Another thing that I wonder about is why this browser is listed within Ubuntu's 8.04 package manager.
