More problems in Fedora than any other Linux...
I have 2 machines with Fedora on them. BOTH have more problems that any other Linux install.
Is this because Fedora is better? More secure? Faster/not bogged down? Or has LESS support?
Why does it seem this way with Fedora? I bought RHEL/FC8 Bible with LiveCD and DVD, and I am regretting this purchase more and more each day...

Hi,
different distributions have different philosophies, approaches and goals.
So it's hard to say one is better than another.
But individual people do have different ways of thinking and ways to get work done.
I think it happens to be the case that Fedora and you just don't match.
There are some GNU/Linux distributions I can't stand either. Not necessarily because they are bad. We just disagree on how they should operate.
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.

That doesn't mean that they just don't operate, or operate with bugs.
Fedora is based on extremely latest and untested software. Its Desktop and Server combined. I had Fedora cleanly working after many updates, fixes and modifications. but we can more stable system from other distros.
If you want a stable one get CentOS or RHEL.
If you want something good for Desktop, get OpenSUSE
I think only reason people use Fedora is its similarity to Red Hat Linux. and many people use it.
But personally I have observed that Fedora comes with loads of bugs. compared to TOP 10 distros but still its better than many 20-100 distros in pool.

Fedora is like a test rat of RedHat labs, full of untested/latest packages. If you prefer RPM based distro only then go for CentOS. It is rock solid distro.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I wholeheartedly agree with DC here. Fedora is used to provide a much more cutting-edge experience than many other distributions. This does lead to some issues, but I cant say I've seen many of them. I'm writing this on my eee pc running fedora 10, and I've had no problems with this whatsoever.
I do run CentOS on my server though. RedHat (who's server distribution is re-packaged by the CentOS team, and are also behind Fedora) put an awful lot of development and testing into their distributions. In my experience problems do not stay around for long with Fedora.Linux user #126863 - see http://linuxcounter.net/

I didn't say it was offensive, but comments like 'pick distro A - it's the best' is the first step to a big thread fight about who's got the best Linux. The OP never suggested a preference for rpm distro's, they only used Fedora because they'd bought a book which came with a live CD.
