hi everyone im the latest nub to get linux.... ..I have ubuntu 8.10 x64 installes and now i want to get the latest creative drivers for my sound card working ...

    nub saying hello

    hi everyone im the latest nub to get linux......I have ubuntu 8.10 x64 installes and now i want to get the latest creative drivers for my sound card working and the latest nvidia drivers for my graphics ......
    .
    maby some one can point me in the correct direction
    .
    i have both drivers downloaded (linux 64 versions)
    .
    my hardware ....asus striker 2 extreme mobo (has nvidia 780i chipset
    intell 8600 3.33ghz X2 cpu
    4 gig ram
    nvidia 260 graphics card

    For your best bet of getting sorted, I'd start a new thread for each of your problems in the appropriate sub-forum, in this case probably the Peripherals/Hardware section

    Nvidia drivers in Ubuntu are quite easy to install. Look in your System menu for a program called "Hardware Drivers." Make sure you have an internet connection, and run it. The proper drivers will appear in a list and you can click "Activate" to download, install, and activate them. Reboot and you're done.

    thanks for the replys i have installed the ones under hard ware drivers ..but thought the nvidia drivers from nvidia would be better.......
    .
    anyway ill start a new thread in the correct topic
