    Post Still around...

    Dear LF.org

Sorry I haven't been able to contribute to LFO very much lately. I've been involved in a writing project for over a year now, and its taken over a little bit. That, and the increasing demands of my job and social life. I would rather not work (or play) too hard, but that's my current condition and I'm stuck with it.

I haven't played with Linux much this year, apart from day to day desktop doodling. Actually, all my written work was done on my home desktop, so open source software has simply integrated itself into my life in a very practical way.

A colleague of mine has become interested in the whole open source philosophy, and he sees it as a model for living and working. It's interesting how ideas can spread through everyday conversation. I have spawned an acolyte! It didn't hurt.

I'll pop in from time to time to answer questions and shoot the breeze in the Coffee Lounge, but it's unlikely that I'll clock up many new threads. I plan to upgrade this old machine some time soon (it's starting to creak badly) and I need to blow the dust out of the works. I have a can of compressed air, so I'm dangerous!

Have you noticed how much dust gets inside a computer? I might wear a face mask and put a biohazard sign outside my flat.

    Best wishes - fingal

PS - the forums look pretty! Nice to see some improvements. I hope y'all will keep contributing here.

Thanks Mike - I thought rather than try to do too many things I'd just concentrate on just a few. Cheers!

Hi, fingal... very glad to hear you are doing well, even if you are busier than you'd like to be. Do stop back by whenever time allows and best of luck with all your projects.

Very kind of you - thanks! It's more of a creative project with some friends. A bit like the whole of life really, when you think about it. - Namaste

Hi, Fingal. I too was wondering where you had been. Good luck with the new project.
