    Ok just need a second opinion

    Ok my laptop just came back from service...i was excited... then the fan died i didn't notice... when i did notice it was at 81*C... how much permanent damage have i done to the processor.. i am already sending it back in for service for a new fan should i request a new processor

    81C is not that bad. I've had laptops get up to 100C with no permanent damage. Of course, different processors have different die temperatures. What kind of processor was in it?

    Like Techie Moe said. I wouldn't sweat it to much. My Panasonic Toughbook CF-48 with a Pentium M processor will spike out and temps will jump (90c) depending How hard I am tasking it, and this laptop is ooooooold. But it still chugs along. So I wouldn't fret too much.

    Most manufacturers probably realize that we, the customer, are gonna work our hardware pretty hard. So they make it where you can get some high temps without having to worry about it.
