Could anyone recommend some books about Linux? Books or magazines of how the OS works, tips and tricks, different stuff you can do with it, anything like that. I'm just looking for something educational.

O'Reilly publish a lot of good books. The one I always recommend is Running Linux. Unlike most Linux books, it's not oriented to any particular distribution and it's a fairly slim volume, not a great big hard-to-handle "bible", yet it contains a lot of meat.

I rarely recommend linux books, the best way to learn, trial and error and forums/e-books. Then you are honed in on exactly what you want to learn and you are experiencing it as you do it
