Exothermic Reaction - What happens to a protein shake when you add hot water and agitate (shake) it. Long story short: you end up wearing it. I learned this at lunch today.
I was not actually the one mixing the shake. I was in the break room filling my water bottle and a coworker across the room had just filled a shaker cup with warm water, to which he added protein shake mix and closed the air-tight lid. I heard a BOOM and when I looked up, said coworker was at the center of a chocolate explosion that covered two walls, the ceiling, and sent spots flying over to the refrigerator behind him.
Everything was silent for a few seconds and I said, "Well, I can honestly say I've never seen that before." The tension was broken and we both had a hearty laugh while he made a beeline for the paper towel dispenser.Registered Linux user #270181
