I got a new Toy!
Hey folks, I just purchased a Sansa Fuze yesterday and I am extremely pleased with it.

I have had a whole day to mess with it and this thing is the bees knees as far as I am concerned. It has a couple of drawbacks, the FM radio does not get the best reception and as far as I can tell it only supports .wma .wmv .mp3 and all .jpeg must be renamed to .jpg It has a great battery life, I used it all day today, from 8:30 AM until about 8:00 PM. I have the 2GB version and it works flawlessly with Konqueror using drag and drop or I can launch Amarok and use that to transfer/delete files, album covers, videos, photos and other stuff too. The funny thing is, I wanted to apply an updated firmware so I downloaded the firmware to my wifes machine because it has Windows XP and of course the firmware is an .exe file. Well when I hooked up my Fuze to her USB port, Windows gave me an error message. Something about this device is not recognized blah blah blah, please replace the device! What?!? replace the device??!!? I tried several more times with the same result so I just gave up and will try WINE to apply the firmware.
PS. I only paid $49.00 USD for mine. I see they are still priced for $79.00 USD and up on the Sansa website.
EDIT: these the supported formats.
MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, secure WMA, WAV, Audible, MPEG4Last edited by MikeTbob; 03-28-2009 at 04:16 AM.

Cool Roky, does your RCA work well with Linux too? This is my first MP3 device and I don't know a whole lot about them. I just know the Ipod is wayyy overpriced for me.

I have a little 2GB SSD Phillips player which works fine with Linux, plug it in and drag the music over in both directions. It doesn't support ogg for but I can't complain overall.
No way I'd spend out on an iPod, too much money for too little benefit in my opinion. If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Any one know of some mpegs to download? I have the ability to play videos but I don't know where to get any good ones. Maybe I could try some Movie Trailers just to test it out.

I could share some videos from work, they were taken with a sewer camera. And yes, they are videos of the insides of a sewer!

Yea, it works quite well with Linux. My Ubuntu 8.04 LTS loads it up with Music just fine. I Uploaded AC/DC Runaway Train on it about 3 weeks ago. I was Lucky it works in Linux because I never checked to see if it would work in it. My wife bought it for me on my Birthday (2 gig $29.00 Feb 09). Always thought it was better to be lucky than good.
I just use mine for Music though. No Videos. Hard to watch videos and pilot a Harley. I get Music from the Pirate Bay sometimes. Got a lot of CD's and Vinyl To.Linux Registered User # 475019

Hee hee, I thought that might raise a few eyebrows. If you look close enough, you may even see a few "brown trout" swim by.
