Help Needed For A Biker Book
Hello,
I'm writing a memoir about my days as an outlaw biker in the 1970's. I rode with, but was not a member of, an outlaw club called Fates Assembly MC that is no longer in existence. The chapter I rode with became the Baltimore Chapter of the Hells Angels MC. I was looking online for a picture of the Fates Assembly backpatch or colors to use in my book. I have been unable to locate one. I was hoping that one of you wonderful people could help me out. It would mean an acknowledgment in my book if someone could supply me with one. Thanks. Sounds like some became Pagans, and others H.A. This is all I can dig up for ya.

Ya know that probably any pictures of rockers or patches are going to be with law enforcement or somebodies personal pics. Usually when one of the Big 4 absorb a club, all previous reference to that club is obliterated . So good luck with the book dude.Linux Registered User # 475019

Thanks,
I know after I ended my affiliation with the Fates, they got into a war with the Pagans, especially the Northern Virginia Chapter of FAMC. Lives were lost, mostly Fates. I wrote to Keith "Conan" Richter, the National Sergeant of Arms for the Pagans and President of the Suffolk Co. (N.Y.) Chapter. Conan is currently in Federal prison in Pennsylvania for Conpiracy to Commit Murder and Racketeering. He told me the FAMC mostly became Hells Angels with some possibly joining the Outlaws Motorcyle Club. He said he didn't think any would become Pagans as they were bitter enemies.
A few years ago before I started my book, I was speaking online with a former member of the Fates who said rather than become a "Featherhead" (Hells Angel) he and a few other Fates retired from the club scene as they were allowed to do so.
I tried contacting the Baltimore Chapter of the Hells Angels but never received a reply. I left a plea for the picture of the FAMC colors on their Website Guestbook as well but they never posted it. Like many clubs, they don't like talking to outsiders concerning club, or in this case, fomer club business. I wasn't a total outsider to FAMC back in 1978. I rode with them as an associate and even did an illegal favor for them and they, in turn, did a favor for me. One of the Fates even offered to sponser me if I ever wanted to become a Prospect. But still the Hells Angels are not cooperating in any way. This really doesn't surprise me.

Yeah, your on the outside looking in instead of being on the inside looking out. I am just a desert lone wolf. I've tagged along with H.A. I knew Don Chambers after he was released. Passed away now.Knew some old original Bandits. Knew the new Bandits in Elpaso, before they became Bandidos, before they started up another chapter after Don died. I pretty much told em I couldn't afford abiding by their bylaws or afford fees. Plus the USMC was the last thing I'd ever join. Pretty Anti everything now when it comes to orginizations. Like being my own man. You sound like you had a colorful history. I miss the 70s and 80s when Harleys were something only the knowledgeable would buy. Now I just keep to myself. Thats why when I hear guys say they would like Linux to become mainstream. All I can think of is the gouging us old timers go through now with Bikes. Like I said, Law Enforcement (cough) might be your best bet for finding pictures. They document and keep everything.

Thanks Rokytnji,
I'll try Law Enforcement (cough) but me thinks they'll be just as uncooperative as the 81.

I happen to know a few folks involved in (cough)... Tell'em what it's about and you'll probly be surprised at how they'll help you out.
Good luck on the book!

Thanks Jay,
I wrote to the Baltimore Police Department but so far, have received no reply. If I don't hear from them maybe I'll try thr ATF or FBI.
