    KDE Vs Gnome another Perspective.

I found another KDE vs Gnome article that kind of made me appreciate KDE4 just a little bit more, of course it may have the opposite effect on some of you. Take a look and see for yourself. I thought it was a decent article.

    Intresting..
    But why XFCE is neglected.
I use XFCE and IceWM and those really good.

How ever I prefer to use a distro defualted desktop becasue its more optimized.

The only luck I have had with KDE is when I use NimbleX 2008 which uses KDE 3.5. For some reason though, my mind seems to click better with Gnome or XFCE. Never becoming accustomed to using Windows or Computers probably contributed to that. I can run Fluxbox, LXDE, Icewm, JWM and am learning Enlightenment but I can't seem to wrap my head around KDE. Don't know why either. I would like to learn KDE eventually. Konquerer would just confuse me because it does so much I guess. I use it more for a browser than a file manager, though I am getting a little better at it. All the flak about KDE 4 on up has kept me away from trying it so far. I Hope things get better for them. Meanwhile Gnome and XFCE for me are easiest to use. Learning on all the others.

I'm inclined to agree with the article's conclusion and have stuck with KDE4. I'm now on KDE 4.2.2 and although it still has it's irritations I still prefer it to Gnome which I use on linux mint (my second back up distro - my first is opensuse 11.1).
I haven't been able to use bluetooth since moving to KDE4 but I don't really need it so I can live with that and the minor irritations are easily ignored now, as it develops.

It's interesting that in one of the linked articles the same author states that he will now recommend XFCE 4.6 over KDE and Gnome.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

GNOME has answered the criticism already, though. GNOME 3.0 To Get GNOME Shell, Zeitgeist I use XFCE on my laptop and KDE 4.2.2 on my desktop, but I might have to find room for GNOME somewhere after this.
