This is not funny enough for the jokes thread but it still brought me a little mirth. What your personal e-mail provider says about you...

Opera mail has changed. Opera mail, hotmail and my way mail will erase all of your stored messages if you fail to log in for one month. I do not know how much they charge for Premium service that will store your email.

I disagree with the @hotmail assesment, but that may be an age thing. I got my hotmail account somewhere around `98, whence I had gone through a half a dozen other free e-mail providers that were up one day and either dead a month later or went to a pay site to keep alive. As much as I didn't like it, I figured Microsoft had the financial backing that they weren't going anywhere any time soon. I might as well take their bandwidth while they're offering, and I had run ad and pop-up blockers even back then so I wasn't served crap I didn't want to see.

While I had gotten annoyed at their somewhat recent format change that forced me to upgrade my Firefox (or use Konqueror to access the mobile-phone version posing as Lynx), it is still around.

hotmail was my first email account. It was when I did not know much about computers.
Then I switched to gmail. Mostly because of the space, i think over 1GB.

I've never had a free email account that I really liked, although I did tolerate Hotmail for about a year or so before dumping it (good riddance) long ago. I was only able to put up with Yahoo mail for about a month before deciding it had to go. My Operamail and Gmail accounts have been established for a number of years, but I've recently started preferring Gmail over Operamail because of the huge storage space offered by Gmail, plus Operamail is often extremely slow when it comes to page loads. Otherwise, I don't really like either of them all that much, either. That said, I'll probably always worry about privacy issues with anything Google oriented.

In the end, I guess this all leaves me in some category not mentioned by the article... the unsure and confused category, perhaps.

I like Gmail, but I don't really fall into the proper category for the 'Typical User'. Oh well... I ain't never been typical anyways!

I just stayed with it cuz of the storage space and decent spam filter.

I chose gmail because of the built in chat client, the great spam filter, and the ever growing storage space, for free!!
I was a Yahooer, but I was getting spammed like no other.

I have never used any email systems in my computer. My godson established a hotmail account for me before I was ever on line. I keep my email in cyberspace so I do not have to worry about losing it through another hard drive reformat. As far as I am concerned they all have their drawbacks.

Using Gmail for almost 4 years now..I was using yahoo before that..
the main reson to use gmail is IMAP access, Its just way too boring to login in Web client.

Currently Im trying out GMX mail..and having good experience.
    Never make any misteaks.
